Fees & payments
The TGA is required by Government to fully recover its operating costs for all activities that fall within the scope of the Act, including the TGA's public health responsibilities.
- A fee is charged for a service and the level is based on the cost of providing that service. A list of fees is included in Schedule 9 of the Therapeutic Goods Regulations 1990.
- A charge is a tax imposed on users of the scheme and is applied annually. A list of charges can be found in the Therapeutic Goods (Charges) Regulations 1990.
Consultation with industry representatives of the TGA Industry Consultative Committee is undertaken in relation to charges to fees and charges.
