Planned maintenance may cause outages to the Department of Health and Aged Care’s network from 5:15 pm AEDT on 30 November to 10:00 pm AEDT on 1 December 2024. Access to TGA databases such as TBS Portal, ARTG and DAEN may be affected. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has updated the names of different parts of the organisation so we are better aligned with the names used by other Australian Government departments. The terms 'Divisions' and 'Branches' replace 'Groups' and 'Offices' respectively.
The TGA is arranged into three divisions (previously referred to as 'Groups'):
- Market Authorisation Division
- Monitoring and Compliance Division; and
- Regulatory Support Division.
The National Manager of TGA is a member of the Department of Health's Executive Committee and is supported by a Principal Medical Adviser and a Principal Legal Adviser.
There have also been a number of changes to Branch names (previously referred to as 'Offices') and Section names in order to provide greater clarity about their roles and responsibilities.
An updated TGA Structure chart is available. There have been no changes to the regulatory business undertaken by different organisational units and the email and telephone contact information for individual staff members has also not changed.
Our website and other external communication channels will be updated in the coming weeks to reflect these new names.
