Review of the arrangements for the scheduling of medicines and poisons

The Australian Government Department of Health wishes to advise that the Report by the Scheduling Review Panel - Review of Arrangements for Scheduling Substances under Part 6-3 of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 - September 2013 was tabled on 10 December 2013 in both House of Parliament in accordance with the requirements of the Act. The document is now available from the department's website - Review of Medicines and Poisons Scheduling Arrangements.
- the system of access controls for goods containing scheduled substances
- the outcomes of the administration of scheduled substances by the Secretary and by the associated committees
- the effect of the amendments on the therapeutic goods industry and on individual parties within the industry
- whether there are adequate avenues for review of decisions made by the Secretary
and may make recommendations of further changes to the scheduling regime.
