Adoption of British Pharmacopoeia 2008
The Therapeutic Goods Committee recommends that:
The definition of British Pharmacopoeia contained in the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 should be amended to refer to British Pharmacopoeia 2008;
The date of effect of this amendment should be 1 July 2008; and
Difficulties identified by stakeholders with the requirements of specific monographs should be addressed administratively on a case by case basis by the product regulator within the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
