We are seeking applications from professionals with relevant expertise in medicine and science, and consumers with relevant expertise in consumer perspectives and issues.
Successful applicants will contribute significantly towards our regulatory functions by providing independent expert advice on matters across a broad spectrum of issues relating to medicines, medical devices, vaccines, and other products and substances. Committee members provide advice throughout the therapeutic product life cycle, from premarket evaluation to post market product safety. See: TGA statutory advisory committees for more details.

Appointments and remuneration
The Minister for Health and Aged Care appoints statutory advisory committee members. The term of appointment is up to three years. The sitting fee for members is in accordance with the latest Remuneration Tribunal (Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Part-time Public Office) Determination.
Committee appointments are not full-time positions. The table below shows the expected number of meetings per year for each committee.

How to apply
Your application should be submitted via the Department of Health and Aged Care website.
Applications must be received by 11.30pm, Monday 10 June 2024.
Applications should include:
- a cover letter outlining your relevant expertise (limit 1 page)
- indication of the committees you would like to be involved in
- a current curriculum vitae
- a short biography (no more than 150 words), outlining your relevant field of expertise for membership of your nominated committee(s). If appointed, a short biography will be published on the TGA website.
- a fully completed and signed ‘Declaration of interest in support of application for membership of a TGA expert advisory committee’
- contact details of referee/s
- your phone, email and postal contact details.
We collect personal information from you in order to manage your appointment or engagement as a TGA committee member and to communicate with you about committee business.
We anticipate that new members will be appointed by November 2024, to commence on 1 January 2025.
