Return affected products to place of purchase
Consumers and health professionals are advised that a number of children's medicines are being recalled because they have been supplied in bottles where grooves that secure the lids can break off during opening.
If this happens, there is a small risk that pieces of plastic could be ingested, posing a potential choking hazard.
The affected products are:
- Amcal children's paracetamol elixir for 1 to 5 years, Amcal children's paracetamol suspension for 6 to 12 years, Amcal ibuprofen suspension for children, and Amcal cetirizine oral solution (published 26 October 2015)
- Guardian children's paracetamol elixir for 1 to 5 years (published 26 October 2015)
- Pharmacy Care ibuprofen suspension for children and Pharmacy Care cetirizine oral solution (published 26 October 2015)
- Apohealth children's paracetamol for 1 to 5 years, Apohealth children's paracetamol for 6 to 12 years, and Apohealth children's ibuprofen for 6 months to 12 years (published 7 October 2015)
