Unique Device Identification (UDI) hub
Establishing Unique Device Identification (UDI) for medical devices will improve patient safety.
The UDI system is an Australian first. If adopted or used throughout the healthcare system and supply chains, it can allow improved tracking and tracing of medical devices. This could assist with earlier and quicker notification to healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals and patients if there is a medical device safety issue.
