The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has issued one infringement notice of $2,664 to a NSW based individual for the alleged unlawful advertising of a medicine that was not included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) and was not exempt from being on the ARTG.
It is alleged that the person advertised on their company website, a therapeutic good containing nicotinamide mononucleotide and promoted it as an anti-ageing medicine.
Therapeutic goods that are not entered in the ARTG are prohibited from being advertised to Australian consumers unless a relevant exemption or exclusion applies.
If you suspect non-compliance in relation to therapeutic goods, you can report illegal or questionable practices online to the TGA.
The TGA encourages the reporting of suspected non-compliant advertising.
