Artri King tablets
We have tested a product labelled Artri King tablets and found that:
- the tablets contain the undeclared substances diclofenac, dexamethasone and phenolphthalein
- diclofenac, dexamethasone and phenolphthalein phenolphthalein taken either alone or in combination with other medication can cause serious side effects.
Consumers are advised that, dexamethasone and phenolphthalein and diclofenac (at certain higher dosages) are prescription-only medicines in Australia.
The supply of Artri King tablets containing undisclosed diclofenac, dexamethasone and phenolphthalein is illegal.
Artri King tablets have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA.

Information for consumers
- To safely stop Arti King tablets you will need to seek advice from your doctor. There are serious health risks in suddenly stopping glucocorticoid drugs such as dexamethasone, and your doctor will advise if any other medications are needed to help prevent these health issues. You should also take any remaining tablets to your local pharmacy for safe disposal.

Action we are taking
We are working with the Australian Border Force (ABF) to help stop future shipments of Artri King tablets from entering Australia.
We will notify ABF to seize and destroy any of these products intercepted at the border.
