Lipro Diet Pills

The commercial supply of Lipro Diet Pills in Australia is illegal. However a number of people in Australia appear to have bought the product through the Internet.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has tested the product Lipro Diet Pills and found that:

• they contain an undeclared prescription substance sibutramine, despite the product label claim that they are 100% herbal
• the levels of sibutramine the pills contain are higher than the levels previously approved by the TGA for prescription.

Taking Lipro Diet Pills for weight loss poses a serious risk to your health.

Sibutramine was withdrawn from the Australian market in October 2010 after studies showed significant risks of heart disease.

Information for consumers

Stop taking Lipro Diet Pills and discard any remaining pills.

If you have any concerns arising from your use of this product, consult your health care practitioner.

Action the TGA is taking

The TGA is working with Australian Customs and Border Protection Services (Customs) to help stop future shipments of Lipro Diet Pills from entering Australia.

If these pills are found at the border by Customs they will be seized and destroyed.

Lipro Diet Pills have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by the TGA.

Consumers are advised to exercise extreme caution when purchasing medicines from unknown overseas Internet sites. Products purchased in this way may not meet the same standards of quality, safety and efficacy as those approved by the TGA for supply in Australia, and may contain undisclosed and potentially harmful ingredients.
