THERAPEUTIC GOODS ACT 1989
THERAPEUTIC GOODS REGULATIONS
I, PIO CESARIN, Acting Director, Chemicals & Non-prescription Medicines Branch, Therapeutic Goods Administration and delegate of the Secretary to the Department of Health and Aged Care for the purposes of Regulation 7C (1) of the Therapeutic Goods Regulations, give notice that the restricted representation described in paragraph (a) below, has been approved for use in advertisements directed to consumers, for the category of products listed in paragraph (b), provided the advertisement also includes the message identified in paragraph (c):
- A representation to the effect that goods described in paragraph (b) below may:
- "may assist in preventing some skin cancers"
- "reduce the risk of some skin cancers"
- Broad spectrum 30+ sunscreens
- Words to the effect of highlighting:
- The need for avoidance of prolonged exposure to the sun,
- The importance of wearing protective clothing, hats and eyewear
