Li Da Daidaihua capsules safety advisory

Li Da Daidaihua capsules pose a serious risk to your health and should not be taken.

We have tested a product labelled Li Da Daidaihua capsules and found that the tablets contain the undeclared substance sibutramine.

1. Consumers are advised that sibutramine is a prescription-only substance in Australia. 
2. Sibutramine was withdrawn from world markets in 2010 due to increased risk of cardiac events and stroke.

The supply of Li Da Daidaihua capsules containing undisclosed sibutramine is illegal.

Li Da Daidaihua capsules have not been assessed by us for quality, safety or efficacy as required under Australian legislation, and the place of manufacture is not approved by us.

We advise consumers to exercise extreme caution when purchasing medicines from unknown overseas websites. Products purchased over the internet:

• may contain undisclosed and potentially harmful ingredients
• may not meet the same standards of quality, safety and efficacy as those approved by us for supply in Australia.

Information for consumers

• Stop using Li Da Daidaihua capsules and take any remaining tablets to your local pharmacy for safe disposal.

Action we are taking

We are working with the Australian Border Force (ABF) to help stop future shipments of Li Da Daidaihua capsules from entering Australia.

We will notify ABF to seize and destroy any of these products intercepted at the border.
