The Australian Consensus Framework for Ethical Collaboration in the Healthcare Sector (ACF) - external sitewas launched in 2018.
The Framework describes the values and ethical principles that underpin collaboration and interaction among organisations in the healthcare sector.
It aims to:
- promote collaboration among healthcare sector organisations and those who work within them
- foster better communication, trust, and respect between and amongst healthcare organisations.
- increase trustworthiness and integrity in healthcare
- show commitment to integrity and ethics in the healthcare sector.
Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) has adopted all the ACF principles.
The MTAA Code of Practice - external site was ratified in November 2019. Healthcare professionals and MTAA employees must complete the Code training.
